CELBAN Test Locations

The CELBAN exam is administered at designated test centers across Canada and occasionally in other countries. Test locations include major cities and regions where there is demand for the exam. For specific test locations, candidates can check with CELBAN's official website or contact their local testing center.

Prior to 2020, the Canadian English Language Benchmark Assessment for Nurses (CELBAN) was primarily administered at designated test locations across Canada. This limited accessibility posed challenges for internationally educated nurses (IENs) living outside of Canada who wished to take the exam.

However, since 2020, the CELBAN has undergone a significant transformation with the introduction of the computer-based test (CELBAN-CBT). This new format allows candidates to take the exam remotely from the comfort of their own homes or from official test sites located internationally. This expansion of test delivery options has made the CELBAN more accessible to IENs around the world, eliminating the need for costly travel and accommodation expenses associated with taking the exam in Canada.

The CELBAN-CBT offers greater flexibility and convenience for candidates, allowing them to schedule their exams at times and locations that are most convenient for them. Additionally, the computer-based format provides a seamless and standardized testing experience, ensuring consistent evaluation of candidates' language proficiency levels.

Overall, the availability of the CELBAN-CBT represents a positive step forward in enhancing accessibility and inclusivity for IENs seeking licensure in Canada. It opens up opportunities for candidates from diverse geographic locations to demonstrate their English language proficiency and pursue their career goals in the Canadian healthcare system.
